Answer:

Ivan Vassilevitch Lomov is a wealthy landowner. He visits Chubukov to propose marriage to his daughter Natalya.

इवान वासिलेविच लोमोव एक धनी ज़मींदार है। वह चुबुकॉव की बेटी नताल्या से विवाह का प्रस्ताव रखने उसके घर आता है।

2. Question: Why is Lomov nervous and anxious?

Answer:

Lomov is nervous because he suffers from heart trouble and fears excitement. He worries too much about his health and future.

लोमोव घबराया हुआ रहता है क्योंकि उसे दिल की बीमारी है और वह उत्तेजना से डरता है। वह अपने स्वास्थ्य और भविष्य को लेकर बहुत चिंतित रहता है।

3. Question: What causes the first argument between Lomov and Natalya?

Answer:

The first argument starts over the ownership of the Oxen Meadows. Both believe the land belongs to them.

पहला झगड़ा बैलों के चरागाह की मिल्कियत को लेकर होता है। दोनों इसे अपनी संपत्ति मानते हैं।

लोमोव एक धनी लेकिन घबराया हुआ ज़मींदार है। वह व्यवहारिक और औपचारिक है तथा अपने स्वास्थ्य को लेकर अत्यधिक चिंतित रहता है। वह प्रेम के बजाय सुरक्षा के लिए विवाह चाहता है। उसकी चिंता और बेहोशी उसे हास्यपूर्ण बनाती है।

Character Sketch of Natalya (60 words)

Natalya is strong-willed, argumentative, and emotional. She is possessive about property and easily excited. Though eager to marry, she turns small issues into heated arguments. Her loud nature and quick mood changes add humor to the play.

नताल्या जिद्दी, तर्कप्रिय और भावुक स्वभाव की है। वह संपत्ति को लेकर अत्यधिक अधिकार जताती है और जल्दी उत्तेजित हो जाती है। विवाह की इच्छुक होते हुए भी वह छोटी बातों पर झगड़ने लगती है, जिससे नाटक में हास्य पैदा होता है।
