1. The Thirsty Crow

One hot summer afternoon, a thirsty crow flew here and there looking for water. After a long search, he saw a pot under a tree. He flew down and looked inside. There was a little water at the bottom, but his beak couldn't reach it. He tried to push the pot, but it was too heavy. The clever crow got an idea. He picked up small pebbles and dropped them into the pot one by one. Slowly, the water level rose. At last, the water came near the top. The crow drank the water and flew away happily, feeling refreshed.

Moral: Where there is a will, there is a way.


2. The Greedy Dog

Once there was a hungry dog. He found a juicy bone and was very happy. Holding it in his mouth, he ran to a quiet place to enjoy it. On his way, he had to cross a small bridge over a stream. As he looked into the water, he saw his reflection and thought it was another dog with a bigger bone. The greedy dog wanted that bone too. He barked at the “other dog,” and as he opened his mouth, his own bone fell into the water and sank. He was left with nothing and felt very sad.

Moral: Greed leads to loss.


3. The Lion and the Mouse

One day, a lion was sleeping in the forest. A little mouse began to run up and down on his body for fun. This woke the lion, and he became angry. He caught the mouse and was about to kill it. The mouse begged for its life and said, “Please let me go. Someday I may help you.” The lion laughed but let the mouse go. A few days later, the lion was caught in a hunter’s net. He roared loudly. The mouse heard him and rushed to help. He chewed the ropes and set the lion free.

Moral: Even the small can help the mighty.


4. The Ant and the Dove

One day, an ant went to a stream to drink water. Suddenly, it slipped and fell in. The ant struggled and cried for help. A dove sitting on a tree nearby saw this. She quickly plucked a leaf and dropped it into the water. The ant climbed onto the leaf and was saved. Later, a hunter came and aimed his gun at the dove. The ant saw this and bit the hunter’s foot. The hunter missed his aim, and the dove flew away safely. Both had helped each other.

Moral: One good turn deserves another.


5. The Fox and the Grapes

Once a hungry fox was wandering through a forest in search of food. He came to a vineyard and saw a bunch of ripe grapes hanging high. His mouth watered. He jumped again and again to reach them, but they were too high. He tried many times but failed. Tired and frustrated, he sat under the vine for a while. Then he walked away saying, “These grapes are probably sour. I don’t want them.” He pretended not to care, but the truth was he couldn’t get them.

Moral: It’s easy to hate what you can’t have.


6. The Honest Woodcutter

A poor woodcutter lived near a forest. One day, while cutting a tree near a river, his axe slipped from his hand and fell into the deep water. He sat on the bank and began to cry. Suddenly, a water fairy appeared and asked what had happened. The woodcutter told her everything honestly. She dived in and brought out a golden axe. The woodcutter said, “That’s not mine.” She brought a silver axe, but again he said no. Finally, she brought his iron axe. The man smiled and said, “Yes, this is mine!” The fairy was pleased and gave him all three axes as a reward.

Moral: Honesty is the best policy.


7. The Hare and the Tortoise

A proud hare always made fun of a slow-moving tortoise. Tired of his teasing, the tortoise said, “Let’s have a race.” The hare laughed but agreed. The race began. The hare ran very fast and soon left the tortoise far behind. Confident that he would win, he stopped under a tree to rest and soon fell asleep. Meanwhile, the tortoise kept moving slowly but steadily. By the time the hare woke up, the tortoise had already reached the finish line. The hare lost the race and felt ashamed.

Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.


8. The Monkey and the Cap Seller

Once, a cap seller was walking through a forest to sell his caps. He got tired and decided to rest under a big tree. He put down his bag of caps and soon fell asleep. Some monkeys living on the tree came down, opened the bag, and took all the caps. They climbed back up and started wearing them. When the cap seller woke up, he was shocked to see the monkeys wearing his caps. In frustration, he threw his own cap on the ground. The monkeys copied him and did the same. He quickly collected all the caps and ran away.

Moral: Use your brain in tricky situations.


9. The Clever Crow and the Snake

A crow lived on a tree and laid eggs in its nest. But each time, a cruel snake living nearby ate them. The crow was sad and wanted to teach the snake a lesson. One day, the queen came to bathe in a pond and left her jewelry on the bank. The crow quickly picked up a gold necklace and flew to the snake’s hole. The guards chased the crow, saw the necklace near the snake’s hole, and killed the snake to take it back. The crow was happy and safe from then on.

Moral: Wisdom is stronger than strength.


10. The Farmer and the Magic Goose

A poor farmer once had a goose that laid a golden egg every day. He sold the eggs and became rich. But soon, greed took over. The farmer thought the goose must have many golden eggs inside. So, he decided to cut it open and take them all at once. He killed the goose, but to his shock, there were no eggs inside. Now he had no goose and no golden eggs. His greed had made him poor again.

Moral: Greed destroys all.
